How Crunchlabs raised $60,000 for their ‘Sponsor a Future Engineer’ campaign

CrunchLabs goal is to show kids and kids at heart how to think like an engineer.
CrunchLabs offers monthly subscription boxes for kids and adults interested in learning about engineering and robotics. Each kit teaches you about a different concept and includes the supplies and instructions required to build that month’s machine.
Challenge
CrunchLabs wanted to raise money for their ‘sponsor a future engineer’ campaign, which helps provide boxes to people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford them. They previously relied on collecting donations via email, which limited the exposure and donations of the campaign.
CrunchLabs needed a way to collect these donations and raise the visibility of the program to customers during the buying journey to encourage donations.
Solution
Crunch Labs used UpsellPlus to add cart drawer, checkout, and post-purchase upsells to collect donations from $1 to $10,000 without leaving the regular shopping flow. Customers can choose their donation amount from a dropdown and add the donation to their purchase with a click.
Results
Since implementing the donation upsells, CrunchLabs has collected over 2500 donations totaling more than $60,000. 1 in 50 people donated!
