Our need to hire
Our founder has done most of the design so far. We recently hired a designer to help us get Built for Shopify. This required redesigning the whole app with the latest UX/UI guidelines from Shopify with the latest version of Polaris.
We need someone to design features once in a while. These can be small (add customization options) or big (new onboarding flow).
What we’re looking for
- Background in product design
- Knowledge of the Shopify Polaris design system
- You understand the Built for Shopify design guidelines
- A ‘Get Stuff Done’ mentality and ability to be proactive, see problems and work through them independently
- Strong technical English skills, both written and spoken
The challenges ahead
- Redesign core features: Some features need an update, like onboarding, where you'd work hand in hand with our engineering team.
- Adhere to Built for Shopify (BFS) guidelines: We have to adhere to certain design guidelines to maintain BFS status. This is very important as we get reviewed by the BFS team from time to time. We lose our BFS status if we no longer adhere to the design guidelines
- AI first: We invest heavily in AI tooling and internal dashboards. Knowledge of AI and how to apply to design is a plus.

- Experience deep dive: Questions about your previous work (written)
- References: We talk to 2-3 people that you worked with before
